Blown plastic film is obtained by extrusion through a circular die.

The film thus obtained is expanded like a baloon and cooled externally and internally.

Later on the cooled baloon is collapsed and winded as a roll.

Nowdays coex lines produce multilayer film consisting of up to 9 layers.

For such films several different extruders and special multilayer dies are used.
